The Two Best Essential Oils For Acne Scars

You may have heard that essential oils can be used to help fade acne scars. Well, they can be. But what are the best essential oils for acne scars? There are two essential oils in particular that I recommend you try. They are Rosehip Oil and Lavender Oil. And here's why.

Rosehip Oil. This is perhaps one of the most powerful essential oils that you can find today. It's a highly potent oil that is made in South America from the fruit of the rose. Crazy, I know. Roses having fruit! Technically it's made from the seed but in all honesty, I'm sure that you don't care that much about the ways that Rosehip oil is actually made. What you DO care about is how it works to fade scars. The oil helps to rejuvenate and repair the skin. It refreshes the skin in a really nice way. This oil has been used in scientific studies, and what they have shown is a remarkable decrease in the colour and the texture of scarring. If you're only considering one essential oil to try, make it Rosehip oil. It's one of the best ones out there and while it can be a bit tricky to find (try the internet) you'll probably discover that it's worth the hunting.

Lavender Oil. This is a really nice moisturizer to use on your skin. If you have dry skin (in particular) then lavender oil will help to sooth and soften the skin. I like moisturizing - it's a really nice way to help the skin. The oil not only smells fantastic (at least I think so!) but using it often on your scars will lead to a calmer appearance for the skin. If you use lavender just before you go to bed you'll find that it can also help you to get some good sleep, lavender being a a very soothing scent to inhale before sleeping.

There are some general tips when using the best essential oils. The first is that you should take good care when you are rubbing them in. Use a nice circular motion of the fingers and not only is this a better way to rub it in, but you'll also discover that the act of massaging the skin will help to increase the blood flow to the affected areas. It's effective, so enjoy the massage! The second is that please buy the best you can afford. This happened to me once - I was a bit silly and purchased some $5 oils down at my local 'buy everything' store. They smell terrible, don't burn properly (for aromatherapy) and I believe they are generally 'filler' oils and aren't going to help achieve anything. Get the best essential oils that you can, and you'll get the best results for treating your acne scars.
